Edmonton, Ab. 119 amazing athletes graced the stage of the Winspear Center on June 23rd in Edmonton. Although proving to be very competitive in a number of classes the overall winners seemed destined from the start. Jessika Lafontaine and Karl Tremblay drove away with one year leases as well as cash and trophy prizes. Overall Figure winner Melissa Lefebvre won a trip for two to the prestigious Olympia in September in Las Vegas.

John Dirks or Paramount Promotions brought together another stand out show. Smoothly run under the capable hands of the new ABBA Exec, including ABBA President David Leung, Vice President Troy Trudgen, and Secretary/Treasurer Leslie Epp the ABBA announced that future Alberta Provincials will be called the Donna and Brian Logue Provincial Classic in honor of the hard work and dedication Brian, Donna and family put into the association for the past decade.

One of the many highlights of the event was seeing twins Terri and Tiffany compete against each other yet totally support each other. Both excelled and will be a force in Tier II in 2008.

The mens classes were extremely competitive. There were times where the judges could have arguably gone in multiple directions but they stayed the coarse and were consistent across the board. In the many years I have witnessed shows in Alberta the judges have shown a high level of consistency and professionalism. With the experience of the new head judges it's already clear that the judging will reward the most deserving athlete.
